Dr. Cristian Ene

Dr. Cristian Ene is an Attorney-at-Law based in Bucharest, Romania, with more than 25 years of experience in criminal law practice. His career has included involvement in some of the most complex and high-profile criminal cases in the recent history of the Romanian judicial system.

He specialises in white-collar criminal law, corruption offences, economic and financial crime, international extradition proceedings, and constitutional litigation. Over more than two and a half decades he has provided legal counsel and/or representation to senior public officials — including a former President of Romania, prime ministers and government ministers — as well as political leaders, banking executives, presidents of national federations, mayors of Bucharest and other major cities, senior public administrators, and prominent business leaders.

His practice has produced final acquittals in complex criminal proceedings, as well as the release and legal rehabilitation of public figures, including through extraordinary remedies before the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania.

His approach combines advanced litigation strategy — identifying procedural defects, constitutional challenges and grounds of inadmissibility in complex evidentiary proceedings, including cases investigated by Romania’s National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) — with judicial crisis management for clients facing significant media scrutiny, and a thorough understanding of the financial, tax and commercial mechanisms behind allegations of losses to public assets or private companies.
